Sofia Meola
I have been supporting neurodivergent children in school, home, and community settings since 2020. I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of California, Davis, where I first found a passion for studying childhood development, and I have been learning alongside children and families ever since. I am trained and certified in DIRFloortime®, an evidence-based, relationship-centered approach that follows the child’s lead to develop emotional regulation, communication, and connection.
I believe relationship is the foundation for development. I center warmth, playfulness, and curiosity in each interaction, and respect each child’s unique way of moving through the world. Trust, shared joy, and co-regulation are the heart of this work.
To tailor my support to each child’s unique sensory, motor, and communication profile, I draw on tools and strategies recommended by occupational therapists, speech therapists, and clinical psychologists.
